Operations Supervisor

Enviva is seeking an Operations Supervisor in Pascagoula, MS, to oversee safety and productivity in a renewable energy environment. Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating vessel loading, troubleshooting operational issues, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Candidates should have supervisory experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in various outdoor conditions. The role requires physical stamina and may involve travel occasionally.

Responsibilities





Follow all workplace and job safety procedures


Supervise, train and coach employee to accomplish safety, productivity, quality and efficiency objectives


Responsible for shift schedule to include workstation assignment/rotations, employee training, vacation, breaks, overtime assignments, and back up for absent employees


Coordinate vessel loading during loading process, conduct shift meetings and communicate with third party vendors including ship captain and third-party inspectors


Identify and help resolve operational challenges including corrective action and troubleshooting to improve reliability of equipment, escalate issues promptly for proper resolution


Operate mobile equipment including inside the storage domes and on vessels


Troubleshoot basic control systems and be familiar with basic machinery functions.


Perform housekeeping audits


Communicate to Operations team, escalating issues as necessary


Other related duties as assigned and serve as backup resource when needed

Required Qualifications



Supervisor experience or equivalent experience at port operation


Ability to work multiple shift schedules and rotating shifts as required


Excellent communication skills


Ability to independently manage priorities and schedule to meet deadlines.


Able to obtain a TWIC




Preferred Qualifications



High School Diploma or GED


At least 2 years, or more, of supervisory experience


Previous experience at Port/Maritime industry




Working Conditions



Must be able to work in outdoor environment and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees


Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment


Work includes high places more than 175 feet, use main lifts and work in confined spaces


Willing and able to maintain a strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment


Available to work evenings, weekends, and overnight to address unexpected site issues with or without notice




Physical Requirements



Able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and crawling and pulling for up to twelve (12) hours per day


Able to work in high places more than 175 feet, use man lifts and work in confined spaces


Able to work around moving equipment and machinery


Able to pull and lift up to 50 lbs


Able to safety and successfully perform and essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards




Travel Requirements



This position may require travel from time-to-time, but not on a regular basis for training or other work-related assignments.
This position is not eligible for visa support.
