Medical Scribe

Hannibal Regional Hospital is seeking a Medical Scribe in Bowling Green, MO. The role involves documenting patient history, exams, procedures, and diagnoses as dictated by physicians. Candidates should have a high school diploma, proficiency in medical terminology, and strong computer and communication skills. A college background in health-related courses is preferred. This is a full-time position with no specific degree requirement.
The Medical Scribe is responsible for accurately documenting the physician dictated patient history (including family, social and past medical), physical exam, as well as procedures, lab and test results, diagnoses and any other information pertaining to the patients encounter in a timely manner.

- High School Diploma or Equivalent required

- College level education including health or medical related courses preferred

- Proficiency in medical terminology, completion of medical terminology course or one year medical terminology experience required

- Proficient computer skills required including the ability to learn various software programs for dictation and charting

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to actively listen, observe and document events accurately and clearly

- Knowledge of proper English, spelling and grammar
