Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hiring a Junior Marine Biologist Summer Camp Counselor in Juno Beach, FL. The role involves supervising campers, leading educational programs, and ensuring safety during activities. Candidates must be 20+, hold CPR/AED certifications, and have experience with children. The position requires full-time availability from June to August and attendance at mandatory training sessions in late May. The center focuses on marine conservation and education.
Job Summary

The Junior Marine Biologist (JMB) Summer Camp Counselor is a key role within our organization, responsible for ensuring the well-being and safety of all participants on and off-campus. This position involves supervising campers during hands-on activities, labs, presentations, off-campus field trips, and experiments, while maintaining a fun and safe environment.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a JMB Camp Counselor. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and demonstrate a strong commitment to marine conservation.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead campers through engaging educational programs, promoting learning and development.
• Maintain a safe and enjoyable camp environment, ensuring the well-being of all participants.
• Serve as a mentor and leader for high school volunteers, providing guidance and support throughout their experience.
• Develop and implement effective strategies to engage participants, promote teamwork, and foster a sense of community.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless program delivery and participant satisfaction.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• A minimum age requirement of 20 years or older.
• Maintenance of current Adult and Child CPR/AED certifications, as well as proficiency in swimming.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to pass an annual Level 2 background screening through DCF Clearinghouse.
• Availability to work the duration of the camp program, from Monday to Friday between 8am-5pm from June 2 to August 8.
• Ability to attend mandatory training sessions between May 20 and May 24, and May 27 and May 31.
• Previous experience working with summer camps or large groups of children.
• Demonstrated knowledge of science fields such as biology, marine biology, ecology, and Florida ecosystems preferred.
