Job Description

The Lighting Associate at Power Design, Inc. in St. Petersburg, FL, is responsible for managing lighting package quotations and submittals in collaboration with the Lighting Consultant. Key tasks include maintaining bills of material, organizing fixture submittals, and liaising with manufacturers for pricing and availability. Candidates should have a relevant degree or experience, knowledge of lighting supply chains, and strong communication skills. This is a full-time position.

The Lighting Associate is responsible for the quotation and submittal of lighting packages in coordination with the Lighting Consultant.

position details/responsibilities...
• Build, update, and maintain a bill of material and entering accurate pricing, adjusting counts as necessary with Lighting Consultant guidance.
• Assist in identifying gaps in the information provided and keep track of answers as they come from the estimating department and the client.
• Gather and format all documents required to create and maintain organized, accurate fixture submittals through approvals and until handoff to a Lighting Project Manager for purchasing.
• Work directly with manufacturers and vendors regarding lead times, product availability and pricing.
• Create accurate and competitive quotations for PDI Estimating while adhering to project budget.
• Ability to utilizing external vendors, internal pricing sheets and pricing database for accurate quotes.
• Maintain PDI quotations through approvals and handoff to the Lighting Project Manager.
• Update and maintain the pricing database with vendor price sheets.
• Continue to learn vendor products, trends, technology and systems as they relate to lighting systems obtaining continuing education credits where available.
• Obtain fixture quotes and provide accurate pricing and recommendations for fixture solutions.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the lighting supply chain process, or have similar experience within construction-specific distribution.
• General knowledge of electrical contracting, lighting design, distribution and construction processes.
• Ability to multi-task in a high volume fast paced work environment with very tight deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized, detail oriented and efficient.
• Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
