Gas Transportation Analyst

The Gas Transportation Analyst at Rhode Island Energy will manage the Gas Transportation program, liaising with natural gas marketers and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities include monitoring daily operations, contract administration, data entry, and supporting pipeline operations goals. A bachelor's degree in a related field and 2 years of experience are required. The position is located in East Providence, RI and is not remote.

The Rhode Island Energy Gas Transportation Analyst will develop a working knowledge of the daily activities of the Company's Gas Transportation program, including but not limited to monitoring daily activities; acting as contact for natural gas marketers and large, high volume choice program customers; and complying with all internal, RIPUC and FERC guidelines. In addition, the Gas Transportation Analyst assists team members with contract administration for natural gas marketers and large customers, allocating pipeline and storage capacity to natural gas marketers, and reporting activities associated with the choice program. The Gas Transportation Analyst will be required to gain knowledge of the new energy trading and risk management systems and ensuring customer choice activity is recorded in the system as required.

Responsibilities:

Support the team in meeting Pipeline Operations goals and gas transportation program objectives.Support the natural gas business and direction of PPL RI.Adhere to all PPL RI regulatory and management compliance requirements.Develop knowledge of the Company's Gas Transportation program including providing nomination requirements to natural gas marketers; and acting as Company representative in certain communications with natural gas marketers.Fielding inquiries from natural gas marketers and providing timely responses.Support and develop knowledge of new internal/external customer choice EBB's and computer systems.Data entry and disseminating information as required.In conjunction with Gas Control and Senior Gas Transportation Specialist, issue Operational Flow Orders (OFOs) and track natural gas marketer compliance with OFOs.Support monthly billing process for natural gas marketers.Maintain working knowledge of RIE's pipeline and storage contracts. When required, assist in regulatory filings affecting natural gas deliveries to the Company. Aid in implementation of approved program changes.Periodic support to the Scheduling Desk.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, mathematics, or other analytical discipline, plus minimum of 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis, is required.Natural gas retail choice program experience preferred.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships and maintain successful relationships across industry sectors.Ability to manage multiple deadlines.Possess working knowledge of Word and Excel applications.Demonstrated ability to learn new software applications.*Position will be filled at the appropriate level based on education and experience.Remote Work: The company reserves the right to determine if this position will be assigned to work on-site, remotely, or a combination of both.
