Job Description

Novant Health is seeking an Environmental Service Coordinator in Wilmington, NC. The role involves overseeing cleaning and maintenance to ensure a safe environment, monitoring staff performance, assisting with daily cleaning tasks, and supporting communication and clerical duties. A high school diploma is required, with preferred experience in environmental services. The position emphasizes teamwork, patient experience, and process improvement.
What We Offer

Responsible for monitoring the cleaning and maintenance of all areas within the facility for the purpose of maintaining a clean, safe, and attractive environment.


What You'll Do

•Oversight of duties: Monitors the completion of the following tasks and procedures: Daily or periodic cleaning of assigned areas, terminal cleaning, timely surface cleaning/disinfecting equipment within the area, all according to policy and procedure. Complete chemical checks weekly. May participate in semi-annual rounds with the health inspector to determine compliance with standards. Completes weekly inspection on the EVS staff. Provide accurate guidance regarding appropriate cleaning solutions and methods. Completion of quality inspections and team member observations. Assists with troubleshooting and issue resolution.
•Daily Responsibilities: Will have daily cleaning assignment and will assist team members in daily cleaning assignments.
•Communication: Demonstrates good communication behaviors when interacting with internal customers to get routine and periodic floor cleaning procedures completed in their respective departments. Provides timely and accurate communication regarding the scope of work expected when assignments are given to employees.
•Clerical: Assist the department leader with the daily assignments. Typing, filing, and other office duties.
•Process Improvement: Assist with performance improvement projects.
•Patient and Team Member Experience: Support with patient and customer experience.


What We're Looking For

Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree. preferred.Experience: Minimum of three years Environmental Services experience preferred.Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skill validation and competency testing. Working knowledge of computer skills and Microsoft Office.
