Environmental Scientist

Hire Resolve is seeking an Environmental Scientist in Durban, South Africa. Responsibilities include project management of environmental assessments, preparing reports for environmental authorizations, conducting risk assessments, and liaising with clients. Candidates should have a BSc Honours in Environmental Management, relevant registrations, and 3-5 years of consulting experience. A Master's degree and mining project experience are advantageous. Salary is negotiable based on experience.
Job Title: Environmental Scientist

Location: Durban

Responsibilities:
• Project management of environmental assessment and monitoring projects
• Develop proposal documents and budgets
• Prepare all reports that are applicable to Applications for Environmental Authorisations and
• Water Use Licence Applications
• Perform evaluations of environmental impacts and apply for water usage licenses.
• Conducting risk assessments and providing recommendations for mitigation strategies
• Producing detailed reports on findings and recommendations
• Liaising with clients and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met

Requirements:
• BSc Honours in Environmental Management or related field
• Master’s degree in Environmental Management in advantageous
• Registration with the Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa (EAPASA) is mandatory
• Registration with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) is mandatory
• At least 3 to 5 years of consulting experience
• Excellent communication and client liaison abilities
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and legislation
• Experience with mining projects will be advantageous
