Job Description

Alignerr is seeking an Environmental Management Scientist to enhance AI systems focused on sustainability and environmental decision-making. Candidates should have over 3 years of relevant experience and be able to evaluate AI-generated environmental analyses. The position is flexible, allowing for 10-40 hours per week, and is fully remote, offering autonomy and the opportunity to contribute to significant environmental challenges.
About The Role

We're looking for experienced environmental management professionals to help train and improve AI systems that reason about sustainability, land-use planning, and environmental decision-making. Your real-world expertise will directly shape how AI understands and communicates complex environmental concepts — making a meaningful impact on how the next generation of AI handles the planet's most pressing challenges.

What You'll Do

Review and evaluate AI-generated environmental management scenarios, analyses, and recommendationsAssess the quality of AI reasoning related to sustainability frameworks, impact mitigation, and resource planningIdentify gaps between theoretical approaches and real-world environmental practiceProvide clear, structured feedback to improve the accuracy, depth, and applicability of AI outputsWork independently and asynchronously on task-based assignments that fit your schedule

Who You Are

3+ years of hands-on experience in environmental management, conservation, or a closely related fieldStrong working knowledge of sustainability frameworks, environmental impact assessment, and resource planningAble to critically evaluate written environmental analyses and identify weaknesses or inaccuraciesComfortable delivering detailed, constructive written feedbackSelf-motivated and reliable when working independently

Nice to Have

Master's degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or a related disciplineExperience with environmental policy, regulatory compliance, or permitting frameworksFamiliarity with AI systems, content evaluation, or data annotation workflows
