Function: Programme & Policy covers Programme Implementation (with partners or direct implementation), Thematic Expertise (technical knowledge in areas of specialization), and Policy & Programme Impact (advocacy, research, monitoring & evaluation, and quality). The function links grass-roots work with policy changes at the highest level, and manages an ecosystem of partnerships including, but not limited to, community organizations, donors, peer organizations, academic institutions, media, and the state.


Role Purpose: S/he would be responsible for implementation of the project deliverables in all the project areas and ensure that the envisioned outcome of the project is accomplished with quality programming and contributing to the success of organizational strategy & breakthroughs.


Role & responsibilities (


Based on the objectives set forth under the Project, be accountable to plan and supervise the implementation of the deliverables of the project in lines to the larger vision, mission, commitments and strategy of the organization, including identification and mitigation of critical, context-specific climate and disaster risks at the family and community level through community-led, problem-solving approaches across both consolidating and newly identified intervention geographies.


Develop and diligently track the project key documents such as milestones, detailed implementation plan, MIS, procurement plan, stakeholder engagement plan, project budget etc. & undertake periodic reviews of the same as well as continuously strive to achieve the project outcomes as set forth in the project.


Analyze and evaluate data and/or takes corrective action when necessary to meet project objective


Develop cash flow with the State Finance node, share monthly forecast and follow stipulated guidelines for budget utilization of the project


Ensure effective coordination with Advocacy, campaigns & Communications team for events/campaigns, IEC material, and process documentation set forth under the project


Responsible to train and build capacities of project staff, APDA Mitra volunteers, school task forces and community committees on Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change adaptation and life-saving education (first aid, fire safety, search and rescue, and evacuation), and oversee related mock drills and simulations.


Monitor progress of project objectives and help measure impact objectively by using a quality MIS.


Plan and undertake regular project monitoring through field visits, review meetings and provide guidance/feedback to the project team; Analyze and evaluate data and/or take progressive action when necessary to meet programme/project objectives.


Ensure timely, accurate, and effective donor reporting (viz. donor reports, information requests, activity status updates, queries, field visits, donor engagement calendar etc.) and attend donor interface meetings if required.
