Position Summary
The EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Manager leads the development, implementation, and oversight of safety and environmental programs across manufacturing operations. This role owns compliance management, OSHA program development, risk mitigation, training, and the promotion of a strong safety culture to ensure a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation, and perform other duties as assigned.
Build, implement, and maintain all required OSHA programs, including but not limited to hazard communication, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, confined space entry, respiratory protection, and personal protective equipment programs.
Develop and maintain comprehensive EHS programs that comply with OSHA, EPA, local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and environmental inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring timely reporting, documentation, and preventive measures.
Deliver EHS training programs to employees at all levels, including onboarding, refresher courses, and specialized safety topics, ensuring materials and communication are effective for a multilingual workforce.
Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, QA, and HR to ensure compliance with all EHS policies, procedures, and standards.
Monitor and track key safety metrics, preparing reports, and presenting findings to leadership.
Oversee environmental programs including waste management, chemical handling, air emissions, water discharge, and sustainability initiatives.
Support emergency response planning and coordinate drills to ensure readiness.
Promote a strong safety culture by modeling safe behaviors, encouraging reporting, and recognizing positive safety practices.
Serve as the subject matter expert for all regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance reporting.
Meet all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements and participate in food safety meetings as required.
Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture by following all safety policies, procedures, and regulations; identify and communicate workplace hazards and take corrective action as needed.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
5–10+ years of experience in EHS within manufacturing, industrial, or production environments.
Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and local regulatory requirements.
Experience in incident investigation, risk assessment, and safety program implementation.
Strong communication (written/verbal), problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
Experience with EHS software or ERP systems preferred.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Work Expectations
This is a regular, full-time position with frequent in-person meetings with potential, new and existing customers.
This position needs to have the ability to be available for work daily and extended hours as necessary.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
This position requires long periods sitting/working at a computer, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
The employee should be able to lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel
This position requires up to 5% of travel.
