Intech Services is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist in Karachi, Pakistan, with expertise in GHS, SDS authoring, compliance, and U.S. regulations. Position Summary
We are seeking a highly knowledgeable Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist with advanced expertise in GHS, SDS authoring and compliance, technical documentation, chemical product stewardship, and U.S. regulatory frameworks. This role is responsible for ensuring company operations, products, and documentation meet all federal, state, and local safety, environmental, and transportation regulations. The ideal candidate combines strong regulatory fluency with hands-on technical understanding of chemical products, specifications, and storage requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesRegulatory Compliance & Safety
Develop, review, and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and labels compliant with GHS, OSHA Hazard Communication Standard, and applicable state regulations.
Monitor and interpret U.S. regulations including OSHA, EPA, DOT, TSCA, RCRA, CERCLA, SARA, and state environmental laws.
Maintain facility compliance records, permits, inspections, and reporting deadlines.
Conduct internal EH&S audits, hazard assessments, and risk mitigation planning.
Technical Documentation & Product Stewardship
Review and approve Certificates of Analysis (COAs), Technical Data Sheets (TDS), specifications, and product dossiers.
Verify raw material and finished product compliance against regulatory and customer requirements.
Ensure proper chemical classification, storage compatibility, and inventory segregation.
Support product development teams with regulatory feasibility and compliance assessments.
Environmental & Reporting Functions
Prepare and submit required environmental reports such as Tier II, TRI, air/water discharge reporting, and hazardous waste manifests.
Track emissions, waste streams, and chemical usage for regulatory compliance.
Lead incident investigations and corrective/preventive action implementation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Operations, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to ensure safe handling, storage, and transport of materials.
Train employees on safety procedures, hazard communication, PPE, and emergency response.
Serve as subject matter expert during regulatory inspections and customer audits.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related technical discipline.
3–7+ years EH&S or regulatory compliance experience in the chemical, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
Demonstrated expertise in GHS classification, SDS authoring, and U.S. regulatory compliance.
Strong working knowledge of chemical hazard classes, compatibility, and storage standards.
Experience preparing technical documentation (COAs, TDS, specifications).
Proficiency interpreting regulatory texts and translating requirements into operational procedures.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent).
Experience with regulatory databases or SDS authoring software.
Familiarity with international regulations (REACH, WHMIS, CLP, etc.).
Experience managing compliance programs across multiple sites.
Background supporting audits from regulatory agencies or major customers.
