Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Environmental Field Technician to join our team! In this role you will get to work in a support role alongside the Project Manager on environmental projects in Northern Canada.
What You'll Be Doing:
• Performs routine, non-routine and occasionally heavy labor tasks related to on-site environmental monitoring and sampling activities, as directed by the Mine Manager and Project Manager. Activities will include, but not be limited to:
• monitoring surface water and groundwater levels
• collecting surface and groundwater samples
• operate and maintain data collection equipment
• surveying
• maintain and update documentation and record logs
• other tasks as directed by the Mine Manager
• Tests, calibrates, repairs, and modifies control and instrumentation systems at on-site locations under general supervision. Some assignments are undertaken independently. May give some leadership and guidance to lower level Technicians.
• Prepares required field and office reports of various activities and findings. May initiate reports and/or establish and maintain logs and records.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
• High School diploma, or equivalent, and typically 6+ years of related work experience, or a Associate's Degree in a related field with 4+ years of experience
• Experience completing environmental monitoring and sampling at remote mines in either NWT or Yukon
• Comfortable traveling to and working on remote sites with difficult/challenging access
• Valid drivers license.
• Competency in performing typical Technician assignments and responsibilities, as well as tasks and testing techniques related to operations
