Job Description
AECOM is seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Manager to support our Canadian Remediation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all phases of construction to ensure project objectives are met in compliance with environmental regulations, budget constraints, and timelines. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a thorough understanding of environmental remediation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee construction activities related to environmental remediation projects.
• Develop and implement construction plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Oversee the selection of materials, tools, and equipment for the project.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and local authorities to obtain permits and ensure adherence to environmental regulations.
• Monitor and control project budgets, resource allocation, and construction timelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any construction-related issues or delays.
• Ensure site health and safety compliance, conduct regular inspections, and promptly address concerns.
• Ensure that remediation efforts, including soil excavation, treatment systems, and hazardous material removal, are performed according to specifications and environmental guidelines.
• Prepare progress reports and communicate project status to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with environmental consultants, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with environmental standards and safety regulations.
• Provide leadership to construction teams, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and collaboration.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
• HS +6 years of consulting experience leading remediation and remediation construction projects
•Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications :
• Experience with soil, groundwater, and hazardous material remediation projects.
• Strongly preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion, as prime contractor.
• Experience working on complex environmental remediation sites.
• Familiarity with federal, provincial, and local environmental regulations.
• Strong knowledge of environmental remediation techniques, regulations and best practices.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and manage diverse teams effectively.
• Proficiency in schedule management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and general construction tools.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.
• Ability to work on-site in varying environmental conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Certifications:
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred.
• HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) certification is a plus.
Additional Information
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $70,000.00 - $100,000.00.
