Job Description

Southern California Edison seeks a Rates Senior Advisor to conduct studies and analyses impacting rate design and pricing. This role involves managing regulatory compliance, proposing tariffs, and leading testimony development for regulatory proceedings. Candidates should have over ten years of experience in statistical or financial modeling, with a preference for those holding an MBA or related degree. The position is based in South Carolina and is not remote.

In this job, you’ll conduct studies and analyses that affect the design of rates, pricing, and programs as applicable, while employing a complete understanding of customer needs and available alternatives. You will contribute to the development of new and existing programs, rates, and be involved in a host of agency rulemakings that impact service offerings to SCE’s various customer groups. Responsibilities Manages paperwork and legal processes required by regulators to meet deadlines and follow regulationsProposes and modifies tariffs to comply with commission decisions and facilitate the achievement of company objectives Provides regulatory and tariff interpretations to internal stakeholders to ensure regulatory complianceImplements new tariffs and contracts for various customer groups in alignment with commission guidelinesFacilitates strategic decisions regarding ratemaking regulatory policies, procedures, and implementation to meet company goalsProvides direction on cost recovery for new processes and methods to achieve desired business outcomesConsults on and leads testimony development for the General Rate Cases and other regulatory proceedingsCase manages regulatory applications and complete written testimony and exhibits with supporting papers., as the sponsoring witness or in support of the sponsoring witnessComplies with all regulatory guidelines, requirements and deadlines for rate, tariff and contract filingsLeads/performs analysis and modeling support for the development of new rate designs and cost recovery proposals
A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications Ten or more years of experience with statistical, econometric, engineering, or financial modeling.Experience analyzing and interpreting energy-related regulations, legislation, or policies.
Preferred Qualifications









MBA or related master’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Finance, Data Science, or other equivalent fields.
Seven or more years direct experience in drafting testimony, comments, data requests and/or testifying, etc. before the CPUC or similar regulatory agencies.
Demonstrated knowledge of SCE’s rules and tariff applicable to SCE’s retail electric customers.
Knowledge of marginal cost principles, marginal cost allocation, and rate design principles as they apply to pricing programs and services for an electric utility
Demonstrated strong ability to direct staff in the development and communication of technical data and analytics related to Pricing or Financial analysis.
Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze information and make sound decisions that have significant business impact under minimal supervision







Additional Information






This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
