Job Description
The Ohio State University seeks a Dinning Residence and Sustainability Coordinator to promote sustainable practices in residence halls. Responsibilities include developing initiatives to reduce waste, collaborating with stakeholders, planning events, managing recycling programs, and fostering community among students. The ideal candidate is passionate about sustainability and has strong communication skills. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $38K–$55K per year, located in Columbus, OH.

We are currently seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as the Dinning Residence and Sustainability Coordinator. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to make a positive impact on campus by promoting sustainable practices and fostering a sense of community within our residence halls. We are looking for someone with a strong passion for sustainability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to create meaningful change. Develop and implement sustainable practices and initiatives within the residence halls to reduce waste, conserve resources, and promote environmental stewardship.
Collaborate with university departments, student organizations, and community partners to promote sustainability and educate students on sustainable living.
Plan and facilitate events and workshops related to sustainability and environmental awareness for residence hall students.
Serve as a resource for students, staff, and faculty on sustainable living practices and resources on campus.
Manage and oversee the recycling and composting programs within the residence halls.
Monitor and track sustainability efforts and report progress to university administration.
Create and maintain partnerships with local businesses and organizations to support sustainable initiatives and promote eco-friendly options for students.
Develop and maintain a sense of community and inclusivity within the residence halls through programming and events.
Serve as a liaison between residence hall staff and university administration on sustainability-related issues.
Stay current on industry trends and best practices in sustainability to continuously improve and update programs and initiatives.
