Mast Reforestation is seeking an Analyst for FP&A in Seattle, WA. The role involves leading project controls for reforestation projects, developing budgets, managing costs, and supporting carbon project pricing. Responsibilities include creating reports, improving processes, and collaborating with teams to enhance project outcomes. Key Responsibilities:Build and lead the project controls function within FP&A that owns the integrated schedule, estimating, and cost tracking of all reforestation projects across the Western United States.Lead pricing committees for carbon projects in support of the originations team, taking into consideration factors related to sales/market conditions, site dynamics, and strategic opportunities.Develop budgets, influence procurement strategy, create progress reports, perform audits, manage change management.Maintain source of truth carbon project forecast, return profiles, pipeline dynamics, and quantified long-term opportunities.Provide data and executive level recommendations to support CarbonX, financing partners, and planning.Set goals, core principles, a culture of innovation, procedures and high expectations to enable highest customer satisfaction.Build effective relationships to ensure alignment with other leaders and company/partner goals.Build dashboards/visuals using Google Slides & Sheets, Microsoft Excel and PowerBI; build tools using PowerQuery, SQL, and implement technologies as they arise.Lead cost improvement for all projects including feedback on estimated cost of future programs, identification of focus areas, and execution of identified initiatives.Ensure ongoing improvements in our processes and proceduresAs an Analyst, you will:Assist with project planning from the pipeline stage in concert with the CarbonX and Business Development teams. Co-create project plans, schedules, cost estimates, and carbon baselines to create the scenarios of acceptable outcomes.Source and negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost targets, develop sourcing strategies that create lasting supply and mutually beneficial outcomes based on innovation.Integrate the budgeting process within project management, accurately calculate costs and understand when and why variances occur. Time-phase budgets and create transparent reports available for executives, customers, landowners, and finance partners alike. Preemptively identify risks, monitor continuously, and develop contingency plans to address and mitigate issues. Reduce the impact of risk on budget and schedule, prevent future occurrences of similar risks. Track changes and understand their impact. Follow a clear process for evaluation, approval, and accountability so projects can stay on their charted territory.As a member of the FP&A team, improve forecast accuracy, and with Accounting ensure procure-to-pay processes are in line with budget expectations and optimize cash flows.Project Administration: Establish processes and systems that help team members communicate and collaborate. Track status updates, capture lessons learned, and manage workflows so teams can focus on project execution rather than routine tasks. Desired Skills and Experience: Experience managing conflicting objectives, compressed timelines within complex project execution. Experience in construction or forestry planning and project controls, delivering on large commercial, industrial or forestry projects. Understanding of construction means and methods in equipment installations, or related disciplines within forestry. You know how forests are grown, or you know how multi-entity projects are executed.Outstanding organizational, communication (written and verbal), leadership, interpersonal and decision-making abilities.Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Forestry, Construction Management, Engineering and/or equivalent professional experience.Excellent analytical skills (e.g. MS Office applications, financial modeling, etc.); plus if experience with PowerBI, Power Query, SQL.Highly collaborative, team-oriented, and comfortable leading cross-functional projects
Pluses:Demonstrated success driving tangible impact / influence within a broader organizationExperience in EPC Environment (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) managing both internal and external scheduling, cost and estimating resourcesExperience in a startup environment, and/or in developing large industrial infrastructureQuantitative or computer science degrees
