Job Summary:


This is a hands-on leadership position requiring active participation in daily grinding and production operations while supervising and supporting a 2-3-person 2nd shift team.


Supervisory Responsibilities
· Lead and supervise a 2–3 person grinding team during 2nd shift operations to ensure production, quality, safety, and attendance expectations are met


· Assign daily tasks, monitor workflow and production output, and adjust operations as needed to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime


· Set up, operate, and monitor grinding equipment while occasionally operating baling equipment as needed


· Train, coach, and support employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, company policies, and performance expectations


· Collaborate with management/HR to complete disciplinary actions, corrective action documentation, and performance evaluations


· Troubleshoot equipment and production issues, coordinate preventative maintenance activities, and escalate major concerns when necessary


· Inspect processed materials for contamination, consistency, and overall product quality


· Safely operate forklifts and assist with material handling, staging, and production flow throughout the shift


· Complete production reports, inventory tracking, shift communication, and other required documentation accurately and timely


· Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while promoting continuous improvement and effective communication across departments

Requirements
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required > 2 years of manufacturing, recycling, or grinding operation experience preferred Forklift experience preferred Basic computer and production reporting experience preferred Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for prolonged periods; use hands and arms to operate machinery and equipment; bend, kneel, crouch, and lift materials throughout the shift; and communicate effectively with employees and supervisors.


The employee must be able to:


Lift up to 40 pounds Work in varying temperatures, humidity, moisture, dust, and dirty environments Safely operate forklifts and industrial equipment Maintain close and distance vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision necessary for operating machinery and completing documentation Work Environment
This position works in a manufacturing and recycling facility environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment, industrial noise, dust, and fluctuating temperatures. Proper PPE must be worn at all times.
