Environmental Expert

NTU International A/S is hiring an Environmental Expert for the EIB-funded JETP South Africa Transnet Decarbonisation Framework Loan project. The role requires a university degree and at least 10 years of experience in environmental impact assessment for large transport projects, with a focus on South Africa. The position is based in South Africa and will last until Q3 2026, offering a salary of £60,000 to £80,000 per year.
NTU International A/S is leading a consortium for the implementation of the EIB funded project called: JETP South Africa Transnet Decarbonisation Framework Loan and is searching for experts to support the core team during the implementation of this project.

Location : South Africa.

☝️ Minimum Qualifications and skills:

University degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences or equivalent. Proficiency in oral and written English language. ☝️ Minimum General & Specific professional experience:

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in environmental impact assessment and permitting of large transport infrastructure projects or public authorities, of which at least 3 years should be in South Africa. Involvement in a minimum of 2 large transport infrastructure projects in the past 10 years. Involvement in a minimum of 1 transport project in a developing country, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa, financed by EU, EIB or other IFI’s in the past 10 years.
