About the position

The #1 Wind Technician Development Program\nBuild an exciting, rewarding career in wind power — work locally, enjoy a supportive team environment, gain exclusive training, grow your skills, receive recognition for your contributions, and benefit from competitive pay and benefits.\nThe Tech One Program (TOP) is a structured career development program for entry-level wind technicians, created through a partnership between industry leaders Sky Climber Renewables and Vestas Americas.\nTOP Wind Service Technicians receive exclusive safety and technical training accredited through the Global Wind Organization (GWO). Technicians primarily work at a wind site location near home and operate as part of a service team to ensure safe and efficient wind turbine maintenance.\nThis position reports directly to the Program Manager and Site Manager, and indirectly to the Lead Technician during assignments.\nTechnicians are responsible for performing all preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine generator equipment safely and efficiently. This includes maintaining and repairing machinery or components used primarily in power generation applications such as turbines and generators.\nNote: You are not certified to perform work inside any cabinet/controller without direct supervision from a certified Electrical Technician.Additional duties may be assigned to support customer needs and to help advance Sky Climber’s mission, values, and long-term vision.\nThis is a full-time paid employment opportunity with all training provided upon hire, including:\n- Basic Safety Training (e.g., First Aid, CPR, Fall Protection)- Tower Safety Training (e.g., high-angle rescue or wind tower rescue)- Technical Training (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems)

Responsibilities

Perform basic mechanical installations, maintenance, operations, and upgrades following established proceduresDemonstrate knowledge of tools and use them safelyDismantle and assemble basic machinery, components, and equipmentAccurately document all work performedFollow all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) proceduresRequirements

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (Sky Climber does not provide sponsorships)High School Diploma or GEDValid driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record checkAbility to read, write, and understand EnglishSuccessful completion of a climb preview prior to hireNice-to-haves

Associate’s degree in a technical mechanical field, wind energy discipline, or equivalent technical experienceMechanical or electrical backgroundAbility to read and interpret basic diagrams and wiring schematicsBenefits
