Job Description

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries seeks a Wildlife and Fisheries Compliance Analyst in Baton Rouge, LA. The role involves managing wildlife resources, analyzing data for licensure, and working independently. Candidates should have experience in wildlife programs, financial auditing, or a related field. The position is full-time and may last up to four years, with potential for a permanent appointment.
Overview
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is responsible for managing and protecting the state’s renewable natural resources, including all wildlife and aquatic life. Qualifications
Three years of experience in wildlife and fisheries programs, wildlife conservation enforcement, accounting, financial auditing, information technology, or procurement; OR


Six years of full‑time experience in any field; OR


A bachelor's degree.


Experience substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full‑time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.


Job Duties

Register and title boats and motors, recreational (WMA, fishing & hunting) licenses, commercial licenses, both in‑state and out‑of‑state.
Work independently with minimal oversight using critical thinking skills and independent decision‑making abilities.
Examine and analyze data submitted by and/or on behalf of each applicant for licensure accuracy, authenticity, and completeness of factual information to document determination of eligibility and qualification for boat registrations, inspections, decals, and licensure for lifetime licenses, child support, and unpaid.

Position Specific Details
Appointment Type: Job Appointment (a period that will not exceed four years) may be converted to Probational Appointment should funding become available.

Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and is advertised to be filled as a WLF Compliance Analyst A, B, or C. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected.
