VP of Investment - Renewables

Formative is seeking a VP of Investment - Renewables in Manila, Philippines. This role involves leading project finance and debt structuring for large-scale renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and hydro. Key responsibilities include managing lender relationships, overseeing financial modeling, and driving due diligence processes. Candidates should have a relevant degree and 8+ years of experience in project finance or renewable energy financing.
Formative is partnering with a blue chip organization to appoint a Vice President of Investment to support the development and financing of large-scale renewable energy assets across the Philippines.




This role will sit at the heart of the investment and delivery platform, leading debt structuring, lender engagement, and project finance execution across solar, wind, hydro, and storage projects.

You will work closely with internal development, engineering, and leadership teams, as well as banks, DFIs, and financial partners, to bring projects from concept to financial close.




Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end project finance and debt raising for renewable energy projectsStructure bankable financing solutions including senior debt, mezzanine, and blended financeManage relationships with local and international lenders, DFIs, and advisorsOversee financial modelling, sensitivities, and investment case preparationDrive due diligence processes through financial closeSupport commercial negotiations related to financing terms and documentationProvide market insight on debt markets, interest rate trends, and funding structuresMentor junior team members and contribute to building a best-in-class finance function


Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field8+ years’ experience in project finance, debt advisory, infrastructure finance, or renewable energy financingStrong hands-on experience with financial modelling for project finance transactionsProven track record working with banks, lenders, and financial institutions in Southeast Asia (Philippines experience strongly preferred)Deep understanding of renewable energy project economics and financing structuresStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsAbility to operate in a fast-moving development environment
