VHB is seeking a Sustainability Specialist in Providence, RI, to conduct natural resource surveys, prepare technical reports, and develop permit applications. The role requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and at least 5 years of environmental consulting experience. Candidates should be able to work outdoors and travel to project sites. • *Job Overview:**
We are seeking a skilled Environmental Scientist to join our team at VHB. This role will involve working on various projects related to natural resource surveys, technical reports, and environmental impact statements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct natural resource surveys, including wetland delineations, wildlife habitat evaluations, and rare species surveys.
• Prepare technical reports for clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop and submit permit applications, adhering to regulatory requirements.
• Prepare environmental impact statements and assessments, planning and zoning studies, and wetland permit applications.
• Design studies of key ecological issues to support clients in making informed environmental decisions.
• Establish and track project milestones and business goals, ensuring seamless collaboration with clients.
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master's degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of professional environmental consulting experience, with a proven track record of success.
• Ability to work in physically challenging outdoor situations and travel regularly to project sites.
• Experience in plant species identification and soil characterization in the northeast is required.
• Ability to identify and describe wildlife, habitats, and ecological communities is required.
• Knowledge of state and federal wetland regulations, land use environmental regulations, and environmental permitting is required.
