Essential FunctionsUnder administrative direction, plan and administer a specific project or program for a City department; serve as administrative supervisor on projects or programs.Plan, assign, supervise, and review activities of subordinate personnel; monitor operating budgets and assist in annual budget preparation.Design, implement, and monitor procedures used in program evaluation; develop and secure commitments from other City departments and agencies to provide services to program participants.Provide technical assistance or reviews of program policies and procedures; maintain current information and oversee preparation of project status reports; prepare financial and narrative reports and program applications.Communicate project/program status and information to municipal officials and/or public and private entities; may supervise employees assigned to the project.Perform other related duties as required.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required.Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business or Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a closely related field preferred.Two (2) years of full-time, paid, progressively responsible experience in program administration required.Must be able to lift and carry thirty (30) pounds.Valid State of Ohio Driver's License required.Additional Minimum QualificationsClimate change is the focus of the City of Cleveland’s sustainability efforts in alignment with the Paris Agreement; roles involve climate action planning, equity considerations, and just transition concepts.Position focuses on designing, planning, and implementing citywide nature-based solutions that advance adaptation and resilience in Greater Cleveland / Northeast Ohio to climate change; will work with multiple offices and departments.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in a scientific, engineering, environmental/ecological or related field; focus on sustainability.Minimum of three (3) years of experience in municipal or large-organization environmental sustainability, NBS work, or related fields.Experience translating technical goals into actionable public policy changes; ability to build and maintain cross-stakeholder partnerships.Project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines; strong written and oral communication skills.Knowledge of environmental justice and just transition frameworks; ability to work independently and collaboratively; strong ethical standards.Proficiency with Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, project management, mapping, CAD, and visualization software.All City employees are responsible for embracing the City’s guiding principles: Placing Clevelanders at the Center, Empowering Employees to Do Purposeful Work, Defining Clear and Pragmatic Objectives, Leading with Trust and Transparency, Striving for Equity in All We Do, and Embracing Change.
