Job Description

The Sustainability Advisor at Sisk will lead the implementation of a sustainability culture across projects in London. Responsibilities include supporting company strategy, engaging in sustainability roadmaps, providing advice to stakeholders, conducting audits, and delivering training. Candidates should have at least one year of environmental experience in construction, strong communication skills, and a relevant degree. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits.

Responsibilities Lead by example.Support the delivery of company strategy.Engage in the development of the functional Strategy, and sustainability roadmap and support the consistent roll out across your Project(s).Engage with strategic Working Groups as required.Support in the delivery of business unit strategy.Provide sound and industry leading advise to project stakeholders.Provide feedback to support the maintenance and review of the Sustainability Management System.Support your projects during Sustainability Management System Audits.Conduct health checks of your project(s) at a frequency and with the intrusiveness as set by the Group Sustainability Director.Prepare for and support external audits by certification bodies.Attend sites following environmental incidents and assist with the investigation.Support Sustainability Manager with enforcement authorities if they attend site on routine visits or to investigate following an incident.Maintain an awareness of trend analysis from inspection/ audit findings and incidents supporting mitigation of recurring issues.Highlight bespoke client requirements affecting management system with line manager.Assist in the collation of information for the preparation of Sustainability management reports for relevant Business Units at applicable intervals.Support continuous improvement on Project(s) Sustainability performance through supporting improvement initiatives.Contribute and assist tender and prequalification teams where requested advising on sustainability submissions as well as helping provide practical solutions.Attend Sustainability Start-Up meetings with Sustainability Manager and the Sisk site teams. Implement the management system and support others to use it appropriately.Deliver appropriate environmental and other relevant training.Be aware of critical legislative changes and best practices to enable the provision of competent Sustainability advice to the site stakeholders.Be aware of own limitations and ensure advise given remains within those limitations. Call in additional support to supplement own abilities where required. Experience At least 1-year environmental experience in a construction environment or similar.Full relevant driver’s licence and flexibility to travel.Communication skills, both written and oral.Time Management and organisational skills.Interpersonal and relationship management skills.Influencing skills and ability to manage challenging conversations.Good IT and data skills.Developing analytical problem-solving skills.
