The Center for Wildlife is offering a Summer 2026 Environmental Education Internship in Maine. This unpaid role is ideal for students in science communication, education, or wildlife care. Interns will work with the Education and Outreach Team, engage with the community through educational programs, assist in summer camp activities, and learn animal handling. This position serves as a pathway to careers in outdoor leadership, conservation, and education.
Thank you for your interest in becoming an Environmental Education Intern! The Environmental Education Internship is an unpaid learning role for those studying science communication, education, outdoor recreation, and care of disabled wildlife living in sanctuary. This position is an exciting pathway to careers in outdoor leadership, animal care, conservation biology, and education. Interns learn by working alongside our experienced Education and Outreach Team, animals included! They have the opportunity to change the world every day by connecting community members of all ages with nature through educational programming and connections with our ambassadors and natural spaces. Environmental Education Interns also help out with specialized summer camp programming themed around ecology and wildlife science, lead programs independently from the planning to execution, assist with planning and leading of special events, and learn how to handle ambassadors for programs.
