Job Description

Greensturn is hiring a Senior Sustainability & ESG Data Lead in Gurugram, India. The role requires expertise in sustainability frameworks and data analytics to design ESG strategies, oversee carbon accounting, and mentor junior analysts. Key responsibilities include collaborating with tech teams and engaging with senior stakeholders. Candidates should have a relevant degree, 7-12 years of experience in sustainability consulting, and strong data analytics skills.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Sustainability & ESG Data Lead who combines deep expertise in sustainability and ESG frameworks with a strong data/analytical background. This role is critical in shaping our platforms sustainability intelligence, mentoring the team, and driving client success.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design & execution of sustainability and ESG strategies for clients (BRSR, GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP).
Guide the development of data models, metrics, and analytics frameworks for ESG reporting.

Oversee carbon accounting, GHG inventories, and sustainability assessments across industries.

Collaborate with product & tech teams to embed data-driven sustainability insights into the platform.

Engage with senior stakeholders (CXOs, CSOs, Compliance Heads) to translate ESG data into actionable strategies.

Mentor junior sustainability analysts and ensure knowledge transfer within the team.

Stay updated on global and Indian sustainability regulations, SEBI guidelines, and industry trends.

Required Qualifications
Bachelors in Civil/Environmental Engineering (preferred) + Masters in Sustainability / Environmental Management / Climate Policy
712 years of experience in sustainability consulting, ESG strategy, or corporate sustainability

Strong background in data analytics / data science (Preferred - Python, R, SQL, Tableau/Power BI)

Demonstrated expertise in GHG Protocol, LCA, ESG reporting frameworks

Prior experience in leading ESG projects / BRSR disclosures for corporates

Preferred Skills
Strong leadership & client engagement experience
Ability to bridge technical data models with strategic sustainability insights

Exposure to climate tech, renewable energy, or sustainable infrastructure projects

Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills
