Job Description
Sigma Earth is seeking a Senior Sustainability & Environmental Specialist in Casper, WY. The role involves overseeing complex projects, leading client presentations, and developing customized sustainability strategies. Candidates should have a degree in relevant fields, 7+ years of experience, and strong knowledge of sustainability trends. Responsibilities include preparing technical documents, managing sub-consultants, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to project proposals. The position is full-time with a salary range of $80K–$100K.
Your Role and Responsibilities
• Join multidisciplinary teams and oversee complex projects requiring environmental compliance and sustainability expertise from initiation through to completion.
• Lead client presentations and contribute actively in design meetings and workshops.
• Create customized sustainability, environmental, and waste management strategies that align with each project’s unique goals.
• Explore and recommend innovative, forward-thinking solutions to align with project visions.
• Prepare technical documents and reports, including those required for environmental approvals and sustainability certifications.
• Develop RFPs to engage appropriate sub-consultants, manage their work, and review their sustainability and environmental (S&E) outputs for quality and accuracy.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and quality checks for junior team members and their work.
• Contribute to winning new projects by supporting the bidding and proposal process.
• Work independently, showing initiative while being supported when needed.
Key Skills and Qualifications
• A degree (Bachelor’s or higher) in architecture, engineering, planning, or environmental sciences.
• At least 7 years of experience in international design, engineering, project management, or sustainability consulting environments.
• Strong knowledge of microclimate design and outdoor thermal comfort solutions (simulation experience is a plus).
• Certified in Estidama PCRS PQP, LEED AP, or BREEAM AP (additional certifications are a bonus).
• Up-to-date knowledge of emerging sustainability trends and practical ways to integrate them.
• Proven ability to coordinate with a wide range of stakeholders, including clients, consultants, contractors, and design teams, to meet sustainability targets.
• Strong grasp of international best practices in sustainability consulting and managing multiple concurrent projects with tailored strategies.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills
—capable of independent and team-based work on large, complex projects.
• Fluent in spoken and written English with strong communication abilities.
