Joining Arup
Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for 80 years, guiding how we shape a better world.
Our Climate and Sustainability business is a leader in Carbon Management for major infrastructure and development. Working with a wide range of public and private organisations, we transform the way they plan and deliver their projects to achieve better projects with more sustainable outcomes.
We are supporting major rail projects across the UK to embed carbon management into their design, procurement and construction projects - including for TransPennine Route Upgrade and for Northern Powerhouse Rail - supporting design development, route selection, and mitigation of GHG emissions at asset level.
We support consenting processes for major developments under EIA and DCO regimes, such as UK-Europe interconnectors, sustainable fuel manufacturing, major reservoir projects, and wide-ranging upgrade projects for the UK’s electrical grid.
We also link our work to wider environmental and social appraisal - for example working with offshore wind developers and planners to embed more robust social value, circular economy, and carbon management into leasing processes.
Shaped by our engineering heritage and informed by our wide range of complementary technical skills, our multidisciplinary approach allows us to tackle the most complex sustainability challenges and deliver impactful results.
