Job Description

Dillon Consulting Limited is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to join their Environmental Planning team. The role involves managing environmental assessments and approvals, leveraging innovative tools and regulatory knowledge. Candidates from diverse backgrounds in environmental planning are encouraged to apply. The position is based in Calgary, Edmonton, or Winnipeg, but offers flexible and hybrid work arrangements, promoting work-life balance.
About the position

We are currently seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to join our Environmental Planning team. Our team specializes in managing comprehensive environmental approvals from planning through construction, leveraging innovative engagement tools and deep regulatory knowledge to streamline project delivery. The next generation of environmental planning will not be built by simply repeating what has always been done.\nThis is a new position and is based at our Calgary, Edmonton or Winnipeg offices. We offer flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangement options to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life. We are interested in planners from across the profession; not only from one sector or type of assessment. Your background may be in infrastructure, energy, utilities, municipal services, resources, industry, government, environmental approvals or another area of environmental planning. What matters most is the perspective, entrepreneurial mindset, and initiative you can bring.\nWe are looking for planners with the judgment to deliver complex work, the curiosity to question established approaches and the entrepreneurial drive to turn good ideas into better outcomes for clients, communities and the environment.\nThe role will be calibrated to your experience. Intermediate planners will have room to take on more complex assignments, increase their client exposure and grow into leadership. Senior planners will have opportunities to lead major work, build client relationships, mentor others and influence the direction of the discipline.\nThis is not an unstructured role, and you will not be expected to build alone. You will have clear responsibilities, experienced colleagues and an established platform along with genuine room to test ideas, improve how we work and help create new opportunities.\nAbout Dillon\nDillon Consulting Limited (Dillon) is a proudly Canadian, 100% employee-owned professional consulting firm specializing in planning, engineering, environmental science, and management. With over 25 offices and more than 1100 employees across Canada, we offer a wide range of services related to building and improving facilities and infrastructure, protecting the environment, and developing communities.\nAt Dillon, we strive to remain at the forefront of technology and innovation and thrive on interdisciplinary collaboration, empowering our people to challenge conventional thinking and build careers focused on creating a lasting impact in our communities. We are committed to ongoing professional development and celebrate the unique perspectives that each team member brings to the table.\nEmployee ownership is available to all Dillon team members, and over 60% of our employees own shares in Dillon. Through employee ownership, we return the financial benefit created by our project work to the very people who created that value. Because we are an employee-owned firm, your voice will be an essential part of our shared success.
