Job Description
Clean Wisconsin is offering a summer Science and Policy Fellowship for individuals with a background in environmental sciences or related fields. The fellowship involves supporting clean air, energy, and water initiatives through tasks like writing reports, conducting research, and analyzing technical documents. Candidates should possess strong writing and analytical skills and commit to 40 hours per week for 12 weeks. The position is remote and promotes equity and inclusion.
Clean Wisconsin is accepting applications for a summer policy and research fellowship position.
Fellows will assist our Science Program in a variety of tasks in support of Clean Wisconsin’s clean air, clean energy and clean water work.
Assignments may include composing technical briefings and factsheets; gathering data needed to support campaign program positions; synthesizing information related to campaigns for internal use; performing independent secondary research and analysis relevant to campaigns; responding to information inquiries by staff, members, and others; writing scientific whitepapers and reports; analyzing permits, applications, and other technical documents.
• Completed coursework or other relevant background knowledge/experience in environmental sciences, public health, political/governmental or other related fields
• Strong writing, verbal and analytical skills
• Interest in, and commitment to, addressing environmental issues facing Wisconsin
• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize scientific information and compose whitepapers/ reports
• Ability to commit 40 hours a week for 12 weeks
• DESIRED: Completed undergraduate degree in environmental sciences, political/governmental, public health, or other related fields
