Research Scientist Biochemistry & Environmental Engineering

PI Industries Ltd is seeking a Research Scientist in Biochemistry & Environmental Engineering in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The role involves driving innovation in Biotechnology R&D, conducting research on microbial consortia for wastewater treatment, and optimizing biological processes. Candidates should have a B.Sc./B.Tech. in Biochemistry/Biotechnology and an M.Tech. in Environmental Engineering, with relevant experience and expertise in wastewater treatment and microbial biotechnology.
What You’ll Do:
• Contributing strategically to the overall success of Biotechnology R&D by driving innovation and enhancing team performance, aligning with departmental/organizational goals.
• Ensuring the security of intellectual property for R&D.
• Carrying out literature search by use of all available databases.
• Conduct research and develop microbial consortia for wastewater treatment
• Design and optimize biological treatment processes, such as aerobic and anaerobic digestion, nitrification, and denitrification.
• Analyse microbial communities using molecular biology and biochemical techniques.
• Perform laboratory-scale and pilot-scale experiments for process optimization.
• Preparing technical reports and document all research results obtained in form of presentations.
• Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams as per requirement.
• Constructive and active participations in all technical and functional meetings of the group.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and proactively participate in laboratory maintenance.
• Attention to details in experimental design, execution and data analysis and interpretation.

What You Bring:
• Qualification: B.Sc./ B. Tech. in Biochemistry/ Biotechnology with M. Tech. in Environmental Engineering from a reputed University with excellent academic credentials, and peer-reviewed papers/ patents
• Experience:
• Associate Research Scientist: M. Tech. with 0 – 3 years of experience
• Research Scientist: M. Tech. with 3 – 5 years of experience
• Expertise in wastewater treatment processes, microbial biotechnology, and bioremediation
• Understanding of microbial consortium, biofilm formation, and nutrient removal.
• Hands-on experience with analytical instruments (HPLC, GC-MS, Spectrophotometry, etc.).
• Functional Competencies: Scientific knowledge, Experimental skills, Documentation, Data reporting, analysis and interpretation
• Behavioural Competencies: Drive for result, Clear communication, Safety/process adherence.
