CEEW seeks to hire a suitable candidate for the position of Research Intern to expand its work in the area of low carbon economy, particularly revolving around formulating net-zero strategies at a state level using the in-house Global Change Analysis Model (GCAM). The work will constitute collection and processing of data pertaining to the state’s energy profile, macroeconomic information as well as reviewing and understanding state-specific energy and climate policies from past reports and vision documents.
Low Carbon Economy’s work on modelling and policy analysis is driven with the broader objective to support India’s energy and climate policy through evidence based unbiased research and cutting-edge analytical approaches. The candidate should have a strong interest in working with data, climate policy issues along with inclination towards understanding India’s and global Net-Zero debate.
Research
• To collect and process data related to the energy sector of the state
• To study and understand the current energy and climate policy landscape of the state.
• To assist in writing research reports/papers as well as blogs, policy briefs in regular intervals
• To assist in any other administrative task
• To survey and analyse the research data using different data analysis software and tools
• To publish in high-quality peer-reviewed national and international journals
Selection Criteria
Education
• Bachelor’s degree with specialisation in engineering, economics, or related subjects.
• Should have a strong inclination towards research, including an understanding of experimental and analytical research
• High degree of comfort with quantitative and qualitative analysis
Main skills
• Ability to do literature review and summarise key findings.
• Good written and oral communication skills; Good report writing skills
• Ability to use MS Office application suit including proficiency in MS Excel. Knowledge of R and Phython will be a bonus.

• Willingness to learn new (research and project management) skills
• Ability to adapt to new environment and deliver under tight deadlines in a professional environment
• Striving for rigour in research and quality in work output
• Ability to dig deeper into details, while also keeping a sense of the broader objectives and big picture
