Project Finance Senior Specialist

SN Aboitiz Power Group is hiring a Project Finance Senior Specialist in Taguig, Metro Manila. Responsibilities include financial modeling, cash-flow analysis, risk modeling, and developing commercial schemes for projects. The role requires knowledge of the Philippine power industry, strong analytical skills, and at least 5 years of relevant experience. A degree in Business, Engineering, or related fields is required, with a preference for advanced degrees.
The responsibilities associated with the position include:


Perform financial modelling and analysis


Creation of cash-flow based project financial models to support decision-making which includes scenario analyses based on a combination of the following drivers: revenue-related, macroeconomic, regulatory, grid-related constraints, project and operational costs, project financing instruments, taxation, etc.Understand technology aspects of renewable energy sources and energy storage systems that are relevant to financing which includes estimation of annual energy production and variability amongst othersModelling of project risks and strategiesDesign and implement model design policies and oversee the training, audit program/model due diligence and ongoing support that enable the wider team to update and manage their models effectively and accurately on an ongoing basis
Develop and propose commercial schemes / business cases for greenfield/brownfield/M&A projects


Design and ascertain viability of pricing methods such as feed-in tariff, auctions, bilateral negotiations and merchant into a project’s revenue componentDesign of alternative or additional revenue streams where applicableRecommend deal structure that provides best value for SNAPRecommend commercial contract design (where applicable) that best represents and protects approved business caseDevelop strategies to improve business cases or deals such as tax optimization, portfolio building and sequencing and equity participants providing services to the project, etc.
Develops and vets the commercial business case of the company’s projects in the pipeline


Works with the relevant project directors, Commercialization, MCO Portfolio Management team and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that the projects being developed will sell power in the most profitable way.Responsible for recommending and vetting the commercial business case of projects, together with the Commercialization team, in accordance with the company’s project approval processSupport gate check reviews of the Commercialization team, together with the relevant project director

Board/Investment Committee presentation decksProject decision gate appraisal reportsProject financing requirements

Superb understanding of the Philippine power industry competitive landscape which includes knowledge of WESM, ancillary services, statutory and regulatory developments, key competitors and industry segmentsExpert at excel and proficient in VBAMarket and competitive analysisStatistical and analytical skillsCorporate Planning / Financial AnalysisExcellent communication, oral and written, and presentation skill
💼 Experience:


At least 5 years of substantial experience in the energy market with background in Engineering and/or Technical field, and experience in business development and financial modelling.
🎓 Education:


Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or Applied SciencesExperience or knowledge in financial modelling is preferredMaster’s Degree in Engineering, Energy Economics, Business Administration or any relevant degree preferred (e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst)
