Job Description

As the power portfolio of OCI transitions towards innovative solutions like onsite generation, renewable power purchase agreements (PPAs), battery storage, and hedging structures, this pivotal role is designed for professionals ready to model these emerging commercial arrangements while assessing their financial implications for our leadership team. You will take charge of comprehensive financial planning and analysis related to alternative power and energy costs across OCI's global datacenter fleet. Your responsibilities will include building and maintaining financial models, managing forecasts, developing unit economics, and collaborating directly with energy procurement, datacenter operations, and deal teams. A solid understanding of electricity markets, power delivery infrastructure impacts on costs, and how commercial structures affect P&L and balance sheets is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the financial planning process, including forecasting, budgeting, and long-range strategic planning for OCI's business units.

Oversee the alternative power and energy cost forecast regionally, ensuring accuracy and addressing discrepancies proactively.

Develop and sustain financial models that evaluate onsite power generation economics including gas turbine installations and behind-the-meter configurations.

Examine fixed-price and non-grid power arrangements, alongside their financial implications throughout contract lifecycles.

Create unit economics across various metrics ($/MWh, $/kW) by region and facility to assist in capacity planning and site selection.

Stay abreast of wholesale electricity market trends, particularly in ERCOT and relevant ISOs, and translate these into informed forecast assumptions and risk assessments.

Assist with large-scale deal financial planning by adjusting power cost assumptions in relation to extensive campus development projects.

Establish robust feedback loops with upstream teams to ensure accurate volume inputs and challenge rate assumptions for improved data quality.

Craft scenario analyses that articulate various trade-offs to leadership, assessing impacts of fluctuating rates, asset performance, and grid timelines.

Automate and enhance existing reporting and forecasting processes to minimize manual efforts and expedite the delivery of reliable information.

Evaluate power sourcing strategies, comparing grid to off-grid options, and provide insights into cost, risk, and flexibility trade-offs.

Analyze renewable energy procurement performance, including PPAs, RECs, and sustainability commitments.

Assess energy rate forward curves for key markets to guide budget strategies and procurement timing.

Create energy cost models for new regions, predicting power costs by analyzing local tariffs and market dynamics.

Examine the economics of battery energy storage systems to support infrastructure investment decisions.

Prepare clear financial presentations for stakeholders and manage reporting schedules effectively.

Engage in quarter-end closing activities in collaboration with Finance, Operations, and Business teams.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

8+ years' experience in FP&A, strategic finance, energy finance, or infrastructure finance, with a preference for backgrounds in datacenter, cloud, utility, or power industries.

A BS/BA in Accounting/Finance is preferred; CPA/MBA is a plus.

Proficient financial modeling skills and an ability to navigate uncertain inputs and commercial structures with confidence.

Capability to articulate technical concepts in a financial context for executive-level understanding.

An eagerness for action and a strong intellectual curiosity to keep pace with rapid industry changes.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to challenge assumptions respectfully and strive for forecast accuracy.

Desirable Attributes:

Experience with ERCOT, PJM, MISO, or other ISO/RTO market structures.

Familiarity with onsite generation technologies such as gas turbines and battery storage systems.

Understanding of cooling infrastructure economics related to power consumption.

Experience with renewable energy procurement frameworks like PPAs and virtual PPAs.

Knowledge in analyzing energy forward curves and risk management strategies.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this role in the United States is from $84,500 to $187,000 per annum, with eligibility for bonuses and equity. Oracle offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with company match, as well as generous paid time off policies and more.

The role is located at the specified address. We appreciate your interest in contributing to our innovative team at OCI, paving the way for future advancements in energy and finance.
