Job Description
Midwest Energy, Inc. is seeking a Line Foreman in St. John, KS, responsible for ensuring service reliability through the construction and maintenance of electric systems. The role involves leading personnel, promoting safety, and requires a Journeyman Lineman certification along with supervisory experience. Candidates must have knowledge of electrical systems, safety regulations, and possess strong leadership and customer service skills. A valid Kansas CDL Class A license is required.
LOCATION: St. John, KS (Newly established Midwest Energy warehouse and reporting location)
General Function
To ensure service reliability for Midwest Energy, Inc. customers through the construction and maintenance of the electric system to ensure that it meets specifications. Coordinate and lead personnel in the planning and coordination of construction, maintenance and operations of electric facilities. Promote safe working habits and enforce all safety rules and regulations adopted by the company.
Education
High school graduate plus advanced trade knowledge equivalent to four years of apprenticeship.
Experience
Must be a Journeyman Lineman. Leadership, supervisory and human relations experience is preferred.
Job Knowledge
Must possess knowledge of all operational aspects of electrical transmission and distribution systems. Must be familiar with all Company Safety Manual, Construction Specifications, Approved List of Materials, National Electric Safety Code, OSHA Rules and Regulations, and the National Electric Code.
Abilities And Skills
Must have ability to construct and operate an electrical distribution system. Should be skilled in the areas of organizing, planning, and directing the efforts of the crew. Must have supervisory and leadership skills in motivating, training, and evaluating subordinates in order to obtain the highest degree of productivity and be responsible for the development of individual capabilities. Must have customer service skills and possess good writing, verbal and interpersonal skills. A valid Kansas Drivers License (CDL Class A) is required.
Working Conditions
Major portion of work day involves general activities of line construction, including direction, participation, observation, review and inspection. Subject to call 24 hours per day, including weekends and holidays. Subject to long periods of work. Work involves outside work in all types of weather.
WAGES: The wage scale for this position is listed in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
