DarrowEverett LLP is looking to hire a Land Use Associate Attorney for our Litigation Department. The candidate must have excellent communication and administrative skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented, be able to multitask without sacrificing efficiency, be responsible, and be able to represent the firm and its clients in ways that enhance its reputation. Candidates should have the desire to work in a collegial environment and to grow their practice.
Qualified candidates must be prepared to handle various permitting at the municipal, state, and/or federal levels. A strong record of academic achievement, proven writing skills and a talent for advocacy in the courtroom are minimum requirements. Attorneys must be licensed to practice in Rhode Island and/or Massachusetts and be a member of the bar in good standing.
Role & Responsibilities:
Overseeing local and state permitting process approvals, including attending meetings, submitting applications and prosecuting appealsManaging applications for licensesProviding zoning, planning, and general permitting opinionsCoordinating with staffResponding to the urgent needs of clientsAttending Zoning Board and Planning Board meetingsRegularly updating clients regarding the progress of their matters
Qualifications:
5+ Years ExperienceStrong oral and written communication skillsKnowledge of the laws and rules, as well as municipal policies and proceduresAbility to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basisA high degree of initiative, mature judgment, and discretionExcellent organization and time management skills
