I’m a graduate student at Columbia University about to begin the M.S. in Sustainability Science program. I’m looking for a mentor or coach with real-world experience in climate modeling, GIS, or emissions analysis—especially someone who understands the applied research landscape in NYC (e.g. Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, NASA GISS, NYC DEP, or the Mayor’s Office of Climate & Environmental Justice).

My long-term goal is to become a highly skilled sustainability analyst or scientist who contributes to climate modeling, emissions forecasting, or GIS-based environmental decision-making. I’d love to connect with someone who has walked this path and could offer:

Career insight and coaching (especially for NYC/climate-related roles)

Technical guidance on what tools to focus on (e.g. CMIP6, GIS, Python)

Exposure to any side projects or initiatives I could support in order to build hands-on experience

Occasional check-ins or support as I grow
