Job Description

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. is hiring a full-time Environmental Specialist for an on-site role at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The position involves providing air quality permitting and compliance support, maintaining records, and collaborating with project teams. A BS degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences and knowledge of Title V permits are required. Candidates must pass background checks to work at the Department of Defense installation.
GES has an immediate opening for a full-time Environmental Specialist to serve up to 30 hours in an on-site capacity at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The candidate will be a civilian contractor working at Aberdeen Proving Ground. They should have a working knowledge of air quality regulatory permitting and compliance requirements with emphasis on Title V Operating permits. Pay is commensurate with education and experience. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing appropriate background checks to work at a Department of Defense installation.

Duties And Responsibilities



Provide air quality permitting and compliance technical support to the Aberdeen Proving Ground Environmental Program, permitting and compliance, NESHAPS compliance, Clean Air Act compliance audits, ozone depleting substance compliance, and air emissions inventoryLead routine biweekly and attend quarterly on-base meetingsPrepare routine progress reports and meeting minutesPerform and document routine emissions source inspectionsMaintain an organized and thorough administrative record and action item matrixCollaborate with off-site GES project team and on-base APG personnelMultitask and appropriately prioritize workloadAssist in performing technical and engineering studies and problem investigationsWork to include, but not be limited to, assisting APG COR with compliance issues for multiple Title V source units/operations throughout the base and assisting with permitting of new operations that are identified

Skills & Requirements

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences or other Sciences and working knowledge of the Federal Title V permit programExperience working at Aberdeen Proving Ground APG) with a CAC card a plusExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilitiesEffective communication skills, both verbal and written, for technical and non-technical audiences.Ability to work independently and collaboratively
