Environmental Engineer - Mid Level

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Environmental Engineer to support remediation projects in Southern California. Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES) , an industry leader with a reputation for excellence in providing environmental consulting, engineering, compliance, and technical field services to clients in diverse market sectors, seeks an experienced Environmental Engineer to support environmental remediation project activities in Southern California. The position is remote-based and the preferred location is in Los Angeles or Orange County.

Position Expectations

Responsibilities:
• Prepares remediation plans and specifications to determine the most appropriate environmental solutions to problems.
• Performs remedial system design for smaller-scale projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Oversees installation and operation and maintenance of remedial systems, including preparing field work orders, system evaluations and upgrades, advanced troubleshooting and ensuring permit compliance.
• Performs routine to high level remedial system O&M, troubleshooting, optimization, and monitoring/sampling activities.
• Performs general subcontractor oversight and self-perform (where applicable) field-related activities related to remediation work (i.e. trenching, subsurface piping, shed and electrical installations).
• Assists with detailed proposals and cost estimates on moderate size projects.
• Coordinates and oversees construction activities during smaller-scale system installation procedures.
• Serves as the engineering resource to a project team on smaller projects.
• Assists senior/project engineers on larger-scale projects.
• Costs out, plans, prepares, and performs any type of pilot test activity to make solid field-related decisions.
• Prepares quarterly status reports for submittal to regulatory agencies.
• Works in the office or the field to fulfill project needs.

Skills & Requirements
• A Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Civil, Mechanical).
• 4-10+ years of related experience is required. Experience providing engineering / remediation support to Oil & Gas or industrial project sites is a plus.
• Must have excellent technical writing, decision-making, and time management skills.
• An E.I.T. or P.E. certification (California) is a major plus.
