Location: On-site at GMC | 202 Prospect Dr, Glendive, MT 59330 | Environmental Services Department

Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Hourly (bi-weekly pay)

Schedule: Five 8-Hour Shifts | Rotating Weekends & Holidays

The Environmental Services Technician plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout our facility. This position ensures patient rooms, public areas, offices, and GMC-owned apartments meet high standards of cleanliness and infection prevention. Your work directly supports patient safety, employee well-being, and overall care quality.


What You'll Do

Perform routine and deep cleaning of patient rooms, resident rooms, offices, waiting areas, hallways, bathrooms, kitchens, and dining areas Disinfect high-touch surfaces to help prevent the spread of infection Clean, vacuum, and maintain floors, carpets, and rugs Clean and polish stainless steel, glass, windows, blinds, walls, curtains, and screens Prepare patient rooms, including making beds and replacing linens Empty trash and biohazard waste using proper PPE and hospital protocols Replenish cleaning and paper supplies as needed Clean GMC-owned apartments when assigned Maintain basic records of areas cleaned and tasks completed Attend required training sessions, in-services, and meetings Perform other related duties as assigned
What We're Looking For

Strong attention to detail and pride in doing quality work Respect for privacy and confidentiality of patients, residents, tenants, and guests Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to perform duties effectively and courteously High school diploma or equivalent preferred Prior cleaning or environmental services experience preferred, but not requiredOn-the-job training is provided
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Frequent bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds Capacity to manage physical activity and occasional emotional stress Possible exposure to common hospital environmental risks Essential functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation
