ERG is seeking an Environmental Scientist/GIS Analyst for their Golden, CO office. Responsibilities include data management, conducting field surveys, and preparing technical reports. ERG is seeking a qualified environmental scientist to join our Ecological Services team in our Golden, Colorado office. Responsibilities include performing data management and analysis tasks, conducting terrestrial and aquatic field surveys, collecting and processing environmental samples, and compiling written technical reports. Technical work will be performed under the direct supervision and mentorship of experienced ERG environmental professionals.

Job Description:
Perform data acquisition, management, analysis, and visualization tasks, including data cleaning, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), preparation of datasets, development of clear and informative visualizations, and interpretation of results to support environmental projects and decision-making
Conduct field surveys to collect data using electronic data capture tools, including extended travel in remote areas
Collect and manage water, soil, and other environmental media samples
Prepare written reports and technical documentation summarizing field activities, analytical results, and findings
Operate and maintain field vehicles and sampling/monitoring equipment
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, geology or a related discipline
1 – 4 years of experience
Understanding of environmental concepts and scientific principles
Attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with various programming languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to perform common data management, analysis, and visualization operations
Strong GIS skills, including proficiency with both ESRI’s suite of ArcGIS software (e.g., ArcGIS Pro; ArcGIS Online) and open-source GIS tools (e.g., QGIS; Python; R) to visualize and analyze geospatial data
Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications
Ability to balance multiple, concurrent tasks
Ability and willingness to travel and work outdoors, including remote locations
\n$56,000 - $74,000 a year\nERG offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, educational benefits, FSAs, a generous 401k plan, profit sharing, an EAP, 11-20 paid vacation days per year, 10 paid holidays per year, 56 hours or more of sick leave (based on the state you work in) per year (pro-rated for part-time) and more. The salary range for all positions depends on the years and type of experience.
