About the position

As an Environmental Scientist I at Brice Engineering LLC, you will play a crucial role in conducting environmental investigations and assessments in compliance with state and federal regulations. Your responsibilities will include collecting and documenting data, preparing project documentation, and providing field support. This position requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently while managing multiple projects in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities
• Conduct and oversee environmental investigations and assessments in accordance with state and federal regulatory guidelines.

• Prepare technical evaluations of investigated sites using RCRA guidelines.
,
• Adhere to schedule and financial objectives, controlling time and expenditures to achieve project goals.
,
• Work with environmental technicians and other technical staff in support of project objectives.
,
• Provide scientific and technical guidance, support, coordination, and oversight to project staff preparing written project documentation.
,
• Review and document the processes necessary to obtain environmental permits, licenses, and other requirements necessary to achieve environmental restoration project objectives.
,
• Review and provide documentation of technical standards, guidelines, policies, and formal regulations to ensure proposals meet all appropriate requirements.
,
• Prepare charts or graphs from data samples, providing summary information on the environmental relevance of the data.
,
• Determine data collection methods to be employed in site surveys and investigations.
,
• Conduct site visits, audits, or inspections to ensure operations are compliant.
,
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science or other related discipline required.
,
• Minimum of 2 years of experience conducting environmental investigations with the demonstrated ability to plan and conduct environmental assessments of sites where hazardous and/or toxic waste may have been released from past operations.
,
• Working knowledge of 18 AAC 75 (ADEC Oil and Hazardous Substances and Pollution Control Regulations), 18 AAC 78 (ADEC UST Regulations) and the ADEC Draft Field Sampling Guidance Manual required.

• Current state driver's license and must be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of Brice Engineering's Driving Policy.

• Ability to pass a drug, driving and background screening.

Nice-to-haves
• Master's Degree in Environmental Science preferred.

• Current HAZWOPER certificate preferred.

• OSHA 30-Hour certificate preferred.
