EPS Environmental Services, Inc. is an established Chicago-based environmental consulting firm committed to delivering high-quality environmental due diligence and consulting services. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Scientist to join our team.

Position Overview

The Environmental Scientist will support and lead Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and related due diligence projects in accordance with ASTM standards. This role involves a mix of fieldwork, data analysis, and technical report writing, with opportunities to collaborate closely with experienced project managers and senior staff.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM E1527 standards
• Perform site visits, including inspections and field data collection
• Travel to project sites as required (year-round)
• Review regulatory databases, historical records, and environmental reports
• Prepare clear, accurate, and concise technical reportsAnalyze laboratory and historical environmental data
• Communicate professionally with clients, site contacts, and internal team members
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
• Manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field
• 3–5 years of experience in environmental consulting (required)
• Direct experience with Phase I ESA report writing and environmental due diligence
• Strong understanding of ASTM E1527 standards and applicable regulations
• Experience reviewing environmental records and conducting file research
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD or similar tools is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Requirements
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to travel to project sites and perform field inspections in varying conditions

Work Environment & Schedule
• Full-time, in-person position
• Monday–Friday, standard business hours (8-hour shifts)
• Combination of office-based work and field assignments
