Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Environmental Scientist in Bellevue, WA, to work on water resources projects for federal clients on the West Coast. The role involves preparing environmental documents, managing projects, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Candidates should have a background in environmental science and experience with federal regulations. Responsibilities include overseeing NEPA projects, permitting, and coordinating with agencies, while using GIS for mapping and data collection.

Be part of a small team of environmental scientists and biologists who help our clients implement their projects in compliance with environmental regulations. We work primarily with federal clients on the West Coast clients (OR, WA, CA, and AK). Successful candidates will have a broad technical background in environmental science, environmental planning/impact assessment, and/or permitting, and will enjoy working on a variety of project types and resource areas. Experience with federal environmental regulations and planning processes is required.

In this role you will be responsible for preparing environmental documents including NEPA documents (CatEx's, EA's, and EIS's), wetland delineation reports, permit applications, Endangered Species Act documents (BA's, BE's, and no effect letters), and other related documents. You will manage and lead tasks associated with environmental projects, including assisting with developing proposals and cost estimates, executing project tasks, managing project budgets and forecasts, ensuring client satisfaction, and mentoring staff. You will direct and oversee NEPA projects, permitting, wetland delineations, resource analysis, agency coordination, and public outreach, as well as budget and project tracking. Additionally, you will work with environmental, regulatory and land use agencies to obtain permits and project approvals, such as: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS), U.S. Forest Service (USFS), and/or National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), state agencies, and local county and city planning departments. You will use GIS for mapping, collecting field data, and occasionally data analysis,

research and interpret federal, state, and local regulations on a project-specific basis to assess project permitting feasibility and requirements, and interface with regulatory agencies.
