Your Responsibilities as a Staff Scientist 1:
• Collect soil, water, and/or air samples at client sites throughout Virginia and North Carolina.
• Perform stormwater facility inspections and maintenance.
• Perform investigation, monitoring, and cleanup activities for sites, ensuring compliance with VADEQ and NCDEQ guidelines.
• Perform operation and maintenance activities on remediation systems.
• Gather and analyze field data.
• Input data into template reports.
• Conduct fieldwork at least 3-4 days per week (80%) using a company-provided vehicle.

What we're looking for:
• BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or other related field.
• Internship experience involving environmental field sampling and data collection desired.
• Strong technical writing skills, the ability to successfully multi-task, safety awareness, and a good record and understanding of safe work practices.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification desired.
• Light construction experience/hands-on skills a plus.
• Experience with data management and report preparation.
• Ability to edit Phase I and II ESAs is preferred.
• Valid driver's license, good driving history and reliable transportation are required.
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Expected Pay Range
$44,000—$50,000 USD
