The State of Missouri is hiring an Environmental Program Assistant/Analyst in Jefferson City, MO. Please note: The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above.


This position will be located at 1730 East Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO.

Responsibilities - What you’ll do

Conduct hazardous waste and solid waste compliance inspections and draft applicable documentation.
Conduct hazardous waste and solid waste field investigations and draft applicable documentation.
Provide technical and compliance assistance regarding hazardous waste and solid waste management law and regulations to the general public and regulated community.
Assist with development and implementation of hazardous and solid waste law, regulation and procedures.
Qualifications - All you need for success
To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:



Environmental Science: Knowledge of concepts, principles, theories, and methods to protect and improve the quality of the environment and its resources.
Technical Credibility: Understands and appropriately applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies.
Analysis and Assessment: Using information technology to access, collect, analyze, maintain, and convey data/information.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:



Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Science, Geology, Forestry, Soil Science, Ecology, Wildlife Management, Agriculture, Animal Science, Natural Resource Management, Soil Conservation, or a closely related field and 0-4 years of relevant experience.
Experience in data analytics is preferred (additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience).
