Greenman-Pedersen Inc. seeks an Environmental Planner/Scientist with at least 5 years of experience to join their Bridgewater, NJ office. The role involves supporting environmental services for transportation projects, preparing NEPA and EO215 documents, and conducting environmental assessments. GPI is growing our environmental practice in New Jersey. We seek an enthusiastic Environmental Planner / Scientist with a minimum of 5 years of experience to work in our Bridgewater, NJ office. You will support and contribute to environmental services for a variety of assignments, with a primary focus on transportation related projects. You will participate in preparing NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) and EO215 (Executive Order No. 215) environmental documents, including associated technical and environmental studies for transportation projects within NJ.

Responsibilities:


Conduct and support field and desktop data collection efforts for environmental assessments
Support staff, clients, and regulatory personnel on projects
Prepare environmental reports and permit applications
Develop and prepare regulatory permit applications (NJDEP, USACE, NJSCD SESC, etc.)
Participate in project meetings and field visits
Provide environmental technical support across interdisciplinary project teams


Qualifications:


B.S. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or an earth science-related field, M.S. is a plus
5+ years of industry experience with demonstrated work on NEPA, EO215, and/or NJDEP permitting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise technical reports and correspondence
Experience and proficiency in developing regulatory permit applications and environmental documentation
Strongly preferred: Experience with wetlands delineation, threatened and endangered (T&E) species surveys/habitat assessments, or related natural resources technical studies
Experience with GIS and environmental data management is a plus
MicroStation and/or AutoCAD experience is a plus
Ability to manage tasks, maintain client relationships, and contribute to multidisciplinary projects and teams
Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) or other relevant license/certification is a plus

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
