Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the the role of Environmental Planner II, we'll count on you to:Work on a wide variety of environmental permitting, compliance, and natural resources projects as they relate to water resources, transmission, renewable energy, and other infrastructure projects.Collect project-related data, which may include research, support communication with government agencies and clients, review GIS data and maps, and interpret land use coordination with the project team (project managers, GIS, and engineers), assist in preparation and review of technical studies, permit applications, and similar reports/documents for local, state, and Federal permitting efforts.Contribute as an author on environmental planning documents such as National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments and Categorical dependently and collaboratively plan, execute, and complete environmental permitting tasks.Engage in building and supporting client relationships, developing technical and fee proposals, as well as responses to RFPs related to environmental servicesPerform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications5 to 8 years of related experienceLocal candidates preferredExperience with GIS softwareDemonstrated familiarity with natural resource elements of planning especially related to Federal and/or state/local regulationsBasic understanding of local, state and federal government programs and processesKnowledge of the environmental impact of planning decisions on communitiesFamiliarity with the legal foundation for land use regulationValid Idaho State Driver's license (occasional travel may be needed for project visits or in-person meetings).Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing deadlines and prioritiesDemonstrated commitment to safety and quality Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or closely related fieldA minimum of 5 years environmental experienceProficiency with MS Office SuiteStrong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilitiesAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We BelieveHDR is our company.
