Job Description
BLOC Resources, LLC is hiring an Environmental Laboratory Analyst 1 in Atlanta, GA. The role involves supporting environmental planning, permitting, and compliance for energy development projects. Position Summary
The Environmental Analyst 1 will support environmental planning and compliance activities within a fast-paced utility and energy development environment.
This role will work directly with senior environmental leadership and assist with the preparation of regulatory applications, environmental documentation, bid support materials, permitting activities, and compliance-related research associated with energy generation and infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple assignments in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Compliance & Regulatory Support
Assist with preparation of environmental and regulatory applications.
Support compliance activities associated with:
federal environmental regulations
state environmental programs
permitting initiatives
energy development projects
Assist with documentation required for environmental reviews and approvals.
DOE Loan & Grant Program Support
Collect, organize, and assemble information required for:
U.S. Department of Energy loan guarantee programs
grant applications
supporting environmental documentation
Coordinate information gathering activities across internal and external project teams.
Environmental Permitting & Planning
Support environmental permitting and planning activities associated with:
natural gas generation projects
renewable energy resources
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
infrastructure development projects
Assist with preparation of environmental review materials and supporting technical documentation.
Bid Package & Project Support
Assist with development and preparation of bid packages for new generation resources.
Support project planning efforts through data collection, documentation review, and coordination activities.
Collaborate with engineering, environmental, and consulting teams to support project deliverables.
Research & Regulatory Analysis
Conduct research related to:
environmental regulations
permitting requirements
compliance standards
cultural resource considerations
Support environmental screening and documentation review efforts.
Data Management & Documentation
Maintain organized project files, databases, and regulatory documentation.
Work efficiently with online systems, databases, and digital platforms.
Ensure documentation accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate with:
environmental teams
engineers
project managers
consultants
regulatory stakeholders
Support communication and coordination across multiple project workstreams.
Educational Background
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in:
Environmental Science
Environmental Engineering
Biology
Ecology
Natural Resources
Environmental Policy
Geology
Sustainability
Civil Engineering
or a related environmental discipline
Preferred Education
Advanced coursework or certifications related to:
environmental permitting
regulatory compliance
environmental management
natural resources
energy infrastructure
Required Qualifications
Working knowledge of:
environmental permitting
environmental licensing
regulatory compliance programs
Familiarity with environmental regulations including:
Clean Water Act
NPDES permitting
Section 404 permitting
cultural resources requirements
National Historic Preservation Act
Strong organizational and project coordination skills.

Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
