Astute's Power Team is collaborating with a major waste management and energy company to recruit Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation (EC&I) Technicians for their new Energy from Waste Power Station in Essex. This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary ranging from £45,000 to £50,000, supplemented by a 6% call out allowance, overtime, a performance-related bonus, and excellent company benefits. As an EC&I Technician, you will report directly to the EC&I Maintenance Team Leader, playing a critical role in ensuring optimal plant availability and efficiency. Your responsibilities will involve conducting fault finding, planned maintenance, and reactive repair activities on all EC&I assets, including control systems and electrical equipment. You will also assist during major maintenance periods and help diagnose faults while collaborating with technicians on equipment upgrades. Additionally, supervising contractors and maintaining accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS will be essential parts of your role. For this position, we are seeking candidates who ideally possess an NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, such as Electrical & Engineering or Measurement and Control. A health and safety qualification, like IOSH, is advantageous. The ideal candidate will have hands-on maintenance experience in a heavy process environment similar to Power Generation, especially in Energy from Waste, Biomass, or CCGT. Knowledge of CMMS and experience with motors, switchgears, and HV equipment will be beneficial. This is a site-based role at the Energy from Waste Power Station in Essex.
